Who needs light in the OR?

The story I have heard is that Governor Long wanted the surgeons to have the best view of the city from Charity and that was why the ORs were on the 12th floor.  I have to say the views were great.  However, If you were on the east side of the building when the sun came up, it could be blinding.  I remember the circulating nurses hanging green curtains (OR sheets) by taping them to the windows to prevent glare.  Alternatively, one day while operating, the lights went out in the room.  We took the curtains down and finished the small biopsy under the light of the sun (it was that bright).
