Bellevue Resident

One day, I was in the accident room assisting a resident from Bellevue Hospital suture a patient. This was the early 70’s, so, for a student nurse, Bellevue was the center of the health care universe. I looked longingly into the resident’s eyes and said, “Tell me about Bellevue.” He stopped suturing, looked up at me, and said. “Bellevue ain’t a patch on Charity’s ass.” At that point, I knew that I was at the center of the health care universe!

A proud Charity Nursing Graduate.
