I was the LSU chief on trauma finishing up when we got called to a Room4. As I got on the elevator going down to the ER, the chief of Neuro and the chief of Ortho got on at the same time. We greeted the other with quick nods of the head. As the box moved down, both of them looked at me and said: “we hope its not a single or isolated injury for us.” All I could do was smile (although I had to admit, I was wishing it was something for either of them. fair is fair. ) At LSU, as long as the patient had multiple injuries; it was getting admitted to the general surgery team.
